Shattered dreams, and broken longings,
Loneliness the sacred haunting;
Walking down the path of life
The heartache seems too much.

Scary dreams and hurting faces
Permeate the landscaped places;
In the wounded heart of life,
The heartache feels so much.

Contemplating, salivating
Overcoming what is looming;
Life, a stream of broken moments,
The heartache is too much.

God, my God, where are you here?
The den of life is full of fear;
A longing, hope, to overcome
The heartache of my soul.

Come take away my broken dreams,
The shredded pieces, everything;
And heal my wounded soul,
The heartache in my heart.

Lovers quarrel from day to day,
Yet true love really is the way;
Give up, and fail, and lose this life
And let it fall to pain and strife.

All is left to heaven above,
The keeper of all wholesome love;
The healing of this heart takes place
In pressing on to see his face.
