After nearly two years of studying dispensationalism, Covenant theology, and a million positions on when the rapture will occur, I’ve finally, decidedly, come to a conclusion and landed on a position with which I can be consistent, clear, and content.
While my position is definitely not uncommon among most Christians, it is clearly the least common among anybody who has actually studied the biblical and theological material concerning the matter. But what I’ve come to on this is as biblical as all the rest. I would like to thank Colby Weinhofer for creating the terminology for the position we both hold ever so dearly.
We call this position the Pragmatic Apathetic position: it really doesn’t matter, so we really don’t care. In fact, after thinking about it even more, we think it would be more scholarly to consider ourselves “Historic Pragmatic Apathetic”: it’s never really mattered, and we still don’t care.
Whew…now that it’s out in the open, I’d like to move on to more important things…like life.
